Since the opening of the Bluffton Jasper Volunteers in Medicine clinic in September of 2011, it has been the dream of the Board of Directors to incorporate a dental program into services offered to our patients. Thanks to generous donations from Sherly & William Magro and additional support from The Bargain Box, The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, Delta Dental of SC, First Non-Profit Foundation, South Carolina Physicians Care Charity and The Truist Foundation this dream has become a reality.
This state of the art facility is equipped with contemporary designed dental chairs, wide screened computers, and panoramic x-ray equipment. The clinic will initially offer dental education and teeth cleanings. Recently hired dental hygienist, Pattie Swanson, will guide these appointments. Shortly after these programs are in place local volunteer dentists will be able to come to the clinic to perform extractions and fillings.
For services not available on site, we will continue to refer patients to area dentists. These referrals will be paid for by Bluffton Jasper Volunteers in Medicines.
Interested patients, volunteers and dentists may call the Bluffton clinic for additional information.
